"Against all odds" prevailed, but the "Two old gits" could or should have?
Yes, an evening of contrasting fortunes at this weeks Quiz Night at the Highwayman in Berkhamsted where the "Two old gits" knew the correct answers to two questions, but didn't write the required full answers on their answer sheet and therefore fell short by a single point - despite Will being extremely dignified, I can still hear him moaning! As a consequence "Against all odds" prevailed and took the spoils in the form of a £40 bar and food gift voucher.
The evenings second prize, a £20 bar and food gift voucher, was as usual fought over fiercely. However newcomers "Quizzie Rascal" showed their dexterity (or something like that) which made their evening well worth while. Well done.
One question this evening (In what sort of establishment would you find a 'boning room'?) produced some strange answers and based on those answers, I get the feeling I maybe showing my age!
Anyway, a convivial evening was had by all (except maybe dear old Will) and we do it all again next week; same day: Wednesday 2nd August, same time: 7.00 pm for a 7.30 pm start, same place: the Highwayman in Berkhamsted High Street - BEST TO BOOK A TABLE IN ADVANCE.
