We Had "Blatant Cheats" This Evening, But They Only Came Joint Fifth .... And Still No Jackpot Winner!
Another eventful Quiz Night at The Highwayman this week with tiebreakers necessary to decide the winners and also to select from the three remaining Jackpot cash prize (£150) envelopes.
There was a welcome return for "Intestate" (normally "Standing Room Only" but without Will) who included Graham (they seek him here, they seek him there, and normally find him in the place with the small blue pens!) who new the precise height of Ben Nevis to beat "... And Ed Makes 6" to the £40 bar and food voucher first prize.
Albeit not necessarily obvious form the scores, the outcome of the evening's £20 bar and food voucher second prize for coming second last proved more clear cut with "The (not so) Fantastic Four" prevailing. They also had their own personal battle with their "Custard Creams" which they lost and probably not hear the end of, but at least they came away with something tangible!
With only envelopes 1, 3 and 10 left to choose from, there seemed to be a very good chance the Jackpot cash prize of £150 would be won this evening and there was great anticipation all round. "The Three Musketeers" won the opportuning after getting the better of "Against All Odds" following another tiebreaker and went for envelope 3 ...... it was again the wrong one! In hindsight, it could be argued they opted for the safe choice! So, the Jackpot cash prize again rolls over to next week's Quiz Night on Wednesday 28th February; 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start – don’t forget it's best to pre-book a table on 01442 285480.
