The Wind Has Changed
These are exciting times that we are living in. It was William Wordsworth who said
"Bliss it was in that dawn to be alive,
But to be young was very heaven."
He could have been talking about the Atlas quiz on a Tuesday night.(1)*
There were five, count them five teams. The same amount of fingers you have on one hand that's how many teams there were. (2)*
I won't deny that there were a few butterflies tonight. Last week for the first time ever La Triviata had stormed first place. This is a team that has got better and better and better.
When I arrived tonight they seemed relaxed, un-phased but once quizzing started it was instant eyes down heads together full on, brain storming.
And they needed to because sitting right behind them was the six man powerhouse known as Quiztell Meth. They weren't going to give in without a fight and fight they did*(3)
That wasn't all of it. We also had newcomers The Duo. Two players who I think we'll be seeing a lot more of in the flet's. They know their foreign countries, they know their TV Chefs and they know their London tube stations.
But let's not take anything away from what happened tonight.
For the second time in human history reigning champions La Triviata won the Atlas quiz.
At the end of the first half they were just one point ahead . . but by the end of the night the Teutonic plates had clearly shifted
LA Triviata are the winners again .
(1)*(He wasn't though he was talking about the French Revolution, but he could have been)
(3)*In their minds
- La Triviata
- Quiztell Meth
- The Jet Studds
- Les Quizerables
