Office Party Bags Big Win To Buy Plants!
A busy night at The Bull resulted in a close run-off for the top prize as an office party scraped to victory by just half a point — after they were deducted two points for having two team members beyond the six player limit. The £104 cash prize will be spent on making their office greener with more plants rather than putting it towards a Christmas booze-up which seems like the right choice.
The second-placed teams, who are used to finishing a lot further down the rankings, with fewer members were still happy with their solid efforts and one player of their chapter also won themselves a bonus drink for knowing who the new Top Gear presenters are (Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff and Paddy McGuinness, if you're interested).
The other winners of the night were a team from the States who were playing their first ever pub quiz, despite living in the UK for nine years. How they have avoided one in that time is beyond belief but it did give them time to gain knowledge of the London Underground and achieve full marks on the the Cryptic Tube Stations question. This was more than enough to stave off the chase from the bottom-placed team and claim the bottle of wine (which they later dropped while trying to take a selfie — whoops!)
Always a fun time at The Bull, last night was no different, with all teams enjoying their knowledge being tested while drinking great beers, eating great food and taking part in great social connections. Make sure you make it down next week for more of the same and a fantastic top prize.
