Titter ye not, 'tis but a cryptic clue

Jodyanne F

'twas lovely to be back at the Clockhouse this evening where the regulars took on the newcomers in a straight head to head battle.
'The Four Eyes' pawned their cassocks to scoop both bonus drink questions and knew that greed was good for the anagram bonus points. Meanwhile, Merry Quizmas got down and dirty to score maximum on the cryptic clues with some blushing thrown in for good measure.
At the end of the evening it was 'The Four Eyes' who came top and thus got to select their mystery prize envelope. Drum roll please.... A bottle of Prosecco! Merry Quizmas were very happy with the second prize bottle of house wine and have vowed to come back and challenge next week.
Everyone did it their way with a rhyme or two to spare but poor Darcey Bussell would have remained in obscurity if this lot had been in charge.
The jackpot rolls over to next week. Come down and take a punt.
