Probably the best university in the world?

Jon B

A competitive night at the Colton Arms, with several top universities represented as well as the USA and Devon. Loughborough, ably assisted by Cirencester Agricultural College looked firm favourites with the biggest team, but in relation to a question about flags, they were overheard debating if stripes were a “symbol”. Oh dear. Could Exeter (“probably the best university in the world”) do any better? They were the half time leaders, but these millennials managed to confuse the Kinks with the Clash, and Audrey Hepburn with Shirley Temple. Fail. Could team USA defeat the cream of England’s universities? Could some pub landlords from Devon take down the business leaders of tomorrow? Close, but no cigar, I’m afraid, as right out of the blue, The Durham Darlings snatched victory with a second half performance their old Alumnus Will Carling would have been proud of. The Big Fact Hunt from Exeter did win the chance to win the Envelope Jackpot, but “Derren Brown” (aka manager Jason) was again too good at hiding the winning envelope, and the money will go up to over £180 next week….
