It certainly wasn't a two (or Ni - in Japanese) headed coin
It wasn't quite the spin of a coin that decided the outcome of this evening's Quiz Night at The Highwayman in Berkhamsted. Only 5 points split the top eight teams and only 2 points split the top three! Special mention should go to "Lone Wolf Pack" in the form of Conner who not only came third on his own, but also did a very honourable thing - mum's the word however. Thus leaving "Heads" (the men) and "Tails" (the ladies). The metaphoric coin ultimately landing "Tails" up and with it the £40 bar and food voucher first prize.
As with the evening's first prize, there was much competition for the £20 bar and food voucher for coming second last with the "3 Amigos" playing an absolute blinder; quite literally, and prevailing!
Then came the jackpot cash prize question, available to all participating teams, to gain the opportunity to draw from the six remaining jackpot envelopes for the £150 cash prize. "Dodslobber Bogtrotter" being the closest to the answer - shush Graham - selected envelope number 9 and albeit a winning envelope, it was only for a drink on the house! So the £150 cash prize rolls over to next weeks Quiz Night: Wednesday 7th February; 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start - best to book a table in advance on 01442 285480.Disclaimer: Blog posts are written by our Quiz hosts.
