Schooltreachers galore, but not enough right answers!
This evening's quiz at the Highwayman in Berkhamsted saw a couple of teams which included a number of local schoolteachers of geography, chemistry, biology, drama, and a few other subjects. Their knowledge didn't seem to help as they battled for the £20 bar and food voucher second prize for the team with the second least points, ultimately finishing either side of the ultimate winner of this prize, "The Magpies" - Howay the lads. I am however lead to understand the schools in Berkhamsted are very highly regarded!
The evening's £40 bar and food voucher first prize was fought over by newcomers "Cheddars" and another new team from the North East and North West "The Five Sevenths" along with team "Elton John's very good on the piano but ..... etc.". Ultimately a tiebreaker was necessary to separate the former and the later teams with "Cheddars" being more familiar with the price of a Big Mac when the first McDonald's was opened in the UK, this taking the prize.
In asking "if the President and the Vice President of the US both died simultaneously, who takes power?", interestingly many teams made reference to Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck!
We do it all again next week at the Highwayman in Berkhamsted on Wednesday 30th August, 7.00 pm for a 7.30 pm start - probably best to book a table in advance (01442 285 480).Disclaimer: Blog posts are written by our Quiz hosts.
