Double tie break
The Crucible Theatre is famed for its late drama during the master's snooker over the bank holiday weekend but they would do well to match the drama that unfolded in The Kings Arms Waterloo tonight.
Just the 3 teams took to the arena and at the halfway point, it looked like 'Cloudy Vikings' would cruise to victory, sitting on a 7 point lead. But quizzing is a game of two halves and seasoned campaigners 'Alternative Answers' and 'Quiztime Aguilera' used the interval to regroup and recharge. And what a second round they both had. 'Cloudy Vikings' finished on 41.5 points. Scores matched by the other teams... so it was a tie-break time to see who would win the two prizes. The question produced another tie for the closest answer and so 'Alternative Answers' bowed out finishing an admirable 3rd place. So unlucky. So. A sudden death of sudden death. Straight shootout. In the end, 'Cloudy Vikings' regained the wisdom they showed in the first half to sail to victory. So hard on 'Quiztima Aguilera'. Triple tie for first, never seen before. And they were all worthy winners. But there can only be one Quiz Champ. Cloudy Vikings. Well done gentlemen. Enjoy the bank holiday victory.
