A Tale of Two Stephens

Michael B

Things we learnt at tonight's Nightingale trivia-fest. 1. Shaggy (the cowardly cartoon sidekick, not the musician) is actually called Norville 'Shaggy' Rogers. 2. Dolly the cloned sheep was named in honour of Dolly Parton's ample cleavage. 3. Dusseldorf and Cologne may be close but they're not THAT close. Questions were asked, answers were given and fun was most probably had. One team decided that imitation is the best form of flattery when it comes to team names and so "borrowed" the moniker 'Stephen Hawking's Football Boots'. They finished in joint-eighth place. However, the real, bona-fide, 100% legit 'Stephen Hawking's Football Boots' fared a little better, taking top spot and the £40 bar tab with an impressive 43 points. In the jackpot round, 'Hogwarts School of Britchcraft & Quizardry' - a four person team - won dinner for two. Now, I'm no Stephen Hawking, but I see a slight mathematical problem here. Luckily, they also claimed the packet of crisps for finishing in second-last position, so it's snacks aplenty for our quizzing quartet. Bon appétit, folks.
