Fearless, Pearless, 'Peer Pressure'

Michael B

"Oh what a night", as the Four Seasons so pithily put it. Usually a return to winning ways for 'Tryouts For The Human Race' - renamed 'The Half Termers' this week out of respect for present offspring - would be the talk of the pub. And a whopping great 44 points too. That's no mean feat. However, they were well and truly overshadowed by the two man force of nature that was 'Peer Pressure'. These chaps probably thought their night had finished on a high when they won a packet of crisps for coming second last. Nope. Their night got a tad more exciting. Several tads in fact. Are you familiar with the old joke, "An Englishman and a Scotsman go into a bar, win the jackpot and leave £580 richer"? Me neither, but that's what happened. Their flawless knowledge of the Guinness World Record for the largest ever Samba dance saw them pick one of six remaining envelopes. They plumped for No.8 ... (pregnant pause for dramatic effect) ... and scooped the £580 jackpot! Not a bad evening's work. But the big question that remains unanswered ... did they remember to claim their packet of crisps?
