Half Marks' Top Marks

Michael B

The twin threat of Olympics and "quite nice weather" couldn't dampen the Wednesday quiz-fest at The Nightingale this week. Regulars 'Half Marks' claimed gold (indulge my Olympic metaphors - it's only once every four years) with a mightily impressive 44 points, pipping the Rio 2016-themed 'Trotty For SPOTY' to the top spot (if you can "pip" a team by a whopping four points, that is). Spare a thought for 'Playing For A Bag of Crisps' - not only did they fail to live up (or down) to their name, but they then won the Jackpot Round, only to draw "Our Love & Affection" ... i.e. Ab-sol-utely nothing. Still, to every cloud ... IT'S A ROLLOVER!
