Thank you for the Music

Michael B

Exciting times at The Nightingale tonight as we rolled out our brand new music questions, complete with sound clips. This could be what's known in the quiz-ness business as a "game-changer". The Pavarotti/Deee-Lite/Madonna three-pronged attack certainly got pulses racing and feet tapping, as well as some general whoops and hollers of glee, so I think it's here to stay ...

There was double delight for 'Half Marks' as they claimed the bonus drinks AND the £40 bar tab for first place, defeating 'Four Yankees' after not one but two tie-break questions. Incidentally, the aforementioned 'Four Yankees' were indeed a quartet of native New Yorkers, so they did extremely well to claim the bottle of wine as runners-up in the face of Brit-centric questions about 'Archie' comics, the Tower of London and Radio 4 presenters!

And finally, it was Pimms o'clock in the Jackpot round as a pitcher of said beverage was won by newcomers 'Topical or Otherwise'.
